The first battle of the Fraternity between Buonavista College vs Upananda College was successfully embarked on 8th November at Galle International Cricket Stadium. Upananda College won the toss and opted to ball first. Buonavistal Co

llege put 84 runs on the board in 44 overs. In reply to Upananda College scored 135 runs and declared the match giving 51 runs lead winning the first inning. Buonavista college was 8 down to 28 runs by the time the stumps – fall marking the end of the match.
The best batsman was Dishan Idumina of Upananda college with his 73 runs, and he was able to snatch 04 wickets being the star of the match. Iman Dewna was the only successful player of Buonavista College scoring 23 quick runs at a strike rate over 164. The best bowler was Theekshana Sandaruwan of Upananda College and Yomika Dulmeth was the emerging spin head for Bounavista College securing 05 wickets in the match. 
Match was drawn and Upananda College showed their maturity playing better cricket all around. Bounavista College though newbies to the field of cricket could resist the experienced attack of Upanandians proving their obvious potential.
The match was live telecasted on Event TV, the official Facebook page of Buonavista College and the YouTube channel of school Media Club. Credit should go to both the principals who had the heart to give their school cricket team an international experience on a huge platform. Not only that, their effort introduced a brand-new edition of a mixed schools to the big match culture in Galle Zone. We believe that the Battle of Fraternity will produce players who will take part in the international platform of cricket.
